Jane Straight© Sacred Datura ~ Datura wrightii

A tender perennial plant with large, upward facing, very fragrant white flowers. It is native to California. Since ancient times this datura has been used for medicinal and ceremonial purposes. The root was also pounded and utilized as an all-purpose cure for many external wounds. It is considered quite toxic but so beautiful to grow.
