Jane Straight© Peyote cactus ~ Lophophora williamsii
Peyote has been used in tribal ceremonies by indigenous cultures in North America since 1000 BC, and currently by the Native American Church. It is a small, spineless cactus containing psychoactive properties, particularly mescaline. Aside from ceremony, Peyote is used for treating fever, joint pain, treating fractures, wounds, and snakebite. It is a powerful anti-microbial, and I have a very supportive story about the healing properties that I will share in the book.
